What's the difference between soap and detergent?

🧪Detergents were invented in the early 1900's to clean surfaces and fabrics (not human skin) but because detergents are much cheaper to manufacture than soap, companies began to market them as body cleansers.

🧪Because detergents are intrinsically harsh and will strip oil from human skin, synthetic moisturizers⚠️(like EDTA) must be added to detergent products. Many of those synthetic chemical additives are proven or suspected hormone disruptors.

🧼Your skin is your body's largest organ and it absorbs whatever you put on it. If you want to avoid chemicals in your body, we recommend that you use soap, not detergent cleansers.
